Job Summary:
The Vice President, Consulting and Systems will provide strategic leadership for Tompkins Solutions’ consulting and systems integration practices. This senior leadership role oversees the delivery of high-value supply chain consulting services, technology assessments, software/systems implementations (WMS, WES, ERP integrations), and thought leadership in warehouse automation and digital transformation. The VP will drive revenue growth, ensure exceptional client outcomes, and align consulting and systems capabilities with the company’s overall strategy to strengthen our position as an end-to-end supply chain partner.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Strategy: Lead and grow the consulting and systems integration teams, setting vision, priorities, and performance standards. Develop and execute strategies to expand services in supply chain technology, automation, and digital solutions.
- Business Development & Revenue Growth: Partner with sales leadership to identify opportunities, contribute to proposals, and win high-value consulting and systems projects. Drive cross-selling of consulting, systems integration, and implementation services.
- Client Delivery Excellence: Oversee the end-to-end delivery of consulting engagements, technology assessments, systems selections/implementations, and integration projects. Ensure projects meet timelines, budgets, and client expectations while delivering measurable ROI.
- Team Development: Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of consultants, systems architects, solutions designers, and subject matter experts. Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and client-centricity.
- Thought Leadership & Innovation: Represent Tompkins Solutions at industry events, publish insights, and drive innovation in areas such as warehouse execution systems (WES), robotics integration, AI-driven optimization, and cloud-based supply chain technologies.
- Internal Collaboration: Work closely with material handling integration, robotics, engineering, and sales teams to deliver seamless, integrated solutions. Contribute to overall company strategy and performance metrics.
- Financial Oversight: Manage P&L for the consulting and systems division, including budgeting, forecasting, and profitability targets.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business, Information Systems, or related field (Master’s or MBA preferred).
- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in supply chain consulting, systems integration, or technology implementation within logistics, distribution, or manufacturing industries.
- Proven track record leading consulting practices or technology teams, with demonstrated success in driving revenue growth and delivering complex, high-value projects.
- Deep expertise in supply chain consulting & technology, including assessments, designs WMS, WES, TMS, ERP integrations, warehouse automation, robotics, and data analytics.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations, material handling systems, and digital transformation trends.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and client-facing skills with experience engaging C-level executives.
- Willingness to travel (up to 50%) for client engagements, industry events, and team leadership.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in a consulting firm or systems integrator focused on supply chain and logistics.
- Proven ability to build and scale high-performing teams in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
- Existing industry network and thought leadership presence (publications, speaking engagements).
Work Environment:
- Work will be conducted in Tompkins’ offices, remote and on-site at client locations
- Must be able to work flexible hours to meet project deadlines
